Postaze ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how Postaze PostBackup - Backup for Windows (the "Application") and the Postaze software platform collect, use, encrypt, and handle your information when you use our Windows desktop client, website (https://postaze.com), and cloud backup services.

If you choose to use our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide reliable, automated cloud backup and account management, we collect the following categories of information:

A. Account & Authentication Information

📝  Registration Details: When creating an account, we may collect your business name, GSTIN (optional), primary WhatsApp contact number, and email address for account identification, quota management, and billing notices.

🔑  Authentication Tokens: Securely hashed bearer tokens stored locally in encrypted app configuration storage on your device to maintain active login sessions.

B. Backup Metadata & Telemetry

📁  File System Metadata: File paths, file sizes, modification timestamps, and cryptographic hash values (SHA-256) necessary to index backup jobs, detect changed blocks via the NTFS USN Journal, and orchestrate efficient delta uploads.

📊  Backup Job Logs: Local diagnostic telemetry recording job status (Pending, Running, Uploaded, Complete, Failed) to allow desktop UI synchronization and error troubleshooting.

C. Encrypted Backup Data

☁️  User-Selected Files: The contents of files and directories that you explicitly designate for backup. All backup data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption and stored securely in enterprise cloud storage buckets (such as Backblaze B2 / Wasabi / Amazon S3).

3. What We DO NOT Collect

❌  Zero Keystroke / Activity Tracking: We do not record user keystrokes, personal browsing history, or background activity outside of your configured backup directories.

❌  Zero Third-Party Advertising: We do not serve third-party ads or sell your personal data, metadata, or backed-up files to data brokers, marketers, or advertisers.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely for core operational purposes:

▪  To perform scheduled and on-demand automated file backups.
▪  To provide file restore and version history recovery when requested by the user.
▪  To authenticate user sessions and manage cloud storage quota allocation.
▪  To communicate critical account notifications, security alerts, and subscription receipts.

5. Data Storage, Security & Encryption

🔒  Encryption in Transit: All communications between the PostBackup client and backend/cloud storage endpoints use modern TLS 1.3 transport encryption.

💾  Encryption at Rest: Cloud backup objects are stored encrypted on enterprise cloud infrastructure with server-side and bucket-level encryption (AES-256).

💻  Local Isolation: Local metadata database records (postbackup.db) and diagnostic logs are stored strictly in your local user application data directory.

6. User Rights & Data Deletion

Under applicable privacy regulations (including GDPR, CCPA, and the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act):

✅  Right of Access: You can view all backed-up files and metadata directly within the PostBackup desktop interface.

✅  Right to Erasure (Account & Data Deletion): You have the right to request complete deletion of your account and all associated cloud backups. To request data deletion, contact our support team at support@postaze.com. Deletion of all cloud backup copies is processed within 30 days of confirmation.
